Shining Earth™ facilitates Enterprise Ireland Project.

The Shining Earth™arm of Delta-Simons has recently completed work with Enterprise Ireland, the Irish state development agency working with Irish Industry. The work highlighted the potential research & development and commercial opportunities within the micro renewable energy market in the UK.
The aim of Enterprise Ireland is to accelerate the development of world-class Irish companies helping them to achieve strong positions in global markets. This will lead to an increased regional and national prosperity.
Enterprise Ireland focuses on five main areas of activity; achieving export sales, investing in research and innovation, competing through productivity, starting up regional enterprise and scaling up regional enterprise. Enterprise Ireland also helps international companies who are looking to develop links with world-class Irish suppliers.
Shining Earth™ began work with Enterprise Ireland in January 2007 headed by Gavin Bunker, Senior Sustainability Consultant and Steve Saville, Senior Environmental Scientist. Shining Earth™ carried out a detailed study to identify opportunities in the micro renewable energy market in the UK.
The study was focused on the environmental group of Enterprise Ireland’s existing client companies and those companies in the building and construction sector. Particular attention was focused on small and medium sized Irish companies.
The micro renewable energy study examined the following areas;

Renewable energy technologies currently available in the UK;

Funding and research and development opportunities in renewable energy;

Opportunities for Enterprise Ireland’s client companies to enter the UK renewable energy market;

The legal and policy framework of the renewable energy market in the UK;

Existing competition within the UK renewable energy markets and
-
A five year forecast identifying new developments within the UK renewable energy market.
Gavin Bunker comments, “The study was completed on time and within budget in March 2007. The key outcome being Shining Earth™ was able to identify a series of opportunities within the micro-renewable energy market that were well placed to serve the needs of Enterprise Irelands existing client companies. Opportunities were highlighted within solar and wind energy, combined heat and power (CHP), biomass, ground source heat pumps and photovoltaics.”
Shining Earth™ will be working closely with Enterprise Ireland over the coming months to look at ways of developing further the opportunities as identified in the study.
