17th April 2008

All four corners of the globe were represented as customers and associates of the Inogen Environmental Alliance converged on London this week to attend the Delta-Simons hosted annual Inogen Conference and receive presentations from some of the world’s biggest companies and sustainability experts.

One hundred and fifty delegates from Europe, Australasia, the Far East, and North and South America descended on the capital city for six days of meetings, including the main Inogen Conference held at Central Hall on Wednesday 16 April.

Under the banner of ‘Make Energy and Climate Change Strategies work for your Business’ the delegates saw presentations covering a wide range of topics including ‘Why and how Sun Microsystems developed its open-source climate metric tool’ (Sun Microsystems), ‘Brownfield reuse’ (BP), ‘Engaging fleet, communities and partners to reduce carbon impacts’ (Abbott Laboratories), and ‘Growing the business, not the carbon’ (The Coca-Cola Company).

In addition, Océ (UK) Ltd presented their vision of ‘Green Business by Choice’ and their strategic partnership with Delta-Simons, and Johan van de Gronden, CEO, World Wide Fund for Nature (Dutch branch) talked about how WWF is working in partnership with businesses.

The key note addresses came from scientist and consultant Jeremy Leggett, author of ‘The Carbon War’ and ‘Half Gone’, who discussed ‘The dynamics of energy supply in the context of climate change’, and Her Excellency Prof. Dr Jacqueline Marian Cramer, Dutch Environment Minister of VROM, provided the Dutch Government’s response to global climate change.

Gareth Pickles, Managing Director, Delta-Simons commented, “We are honoured to have hosted the Inogen Spring Conference this week and are delighted it has been such an outstanding success.  Our speakers provided an informed and thought provoking view of energy and climate risks balanced by an inspiring vision into business’ response to this paramount global challenge."
