Muck, Weeds, Worms and Fossil Fuels......
2nd November 2009
In early October, a team of experts from Delta-Simons delivered a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) event to the East Midlands region of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) on how a robust and legally compliant Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) should be prepared. Experts spoke on a range of technical areas including sustainability, waste, contamination, invasive weeds, ecology and geoenvironmental matters.
The half day seminar delivered by Delta-Simons entitled; ‘Muck, Weeds, Worms and Fossil Fuels’, explored each of these facets of an EIA in detail using project case studies to illustrate examples of good and bad practice when preparing and reviewing an EIA.
The Royal Town Planning Institution is the professional body for planners in the UK. This event was attended by a mixture of private and public sector members from the East Midlands RTPI region, and will count towards the members Continuing Professional Development credits. The event was well received by the members and sparked a lengthy and interesting question and answer session after the main presentations.
Alex Ferguson, Director at Delta-Simons comments:
“The event was a huge success and generated a lot of interest and debate. It’s a privilege to deliver these events with the RTPI and look forward to working on further CPD events in the future.”
Delta-Simons has already been asked to deliver a similar event to the Yorkshire branch of the Royal Town Planning Institution at the end of November.
