Gazeley Logo

Gazeley is a global provider of sustainable logistics warehousing. Shining Earth™ the sustainability division of Delta-Simons, has been working  with Gazeley to help design and launch its Global Environmental Management System (EMS). The EMS is aimed at continuously improving the sustainable delivery of Gazeley’s Global logistics buildings and setting new standards for logistics warehouse development globally.

Environmental Management System

The EMS launch commenced in the UK in May 2007 with a one day conference held within the inspiring surroundings of the Eden Project in Cornwall. The event was attended by over 140 of Gazeley’s global supply team.
The EMS covers 6 key areas of impact;
  1. CO2
  2. Operational waste
  3. Construction waste
  4. Water
  5. Biodiversity and Habitat
  6. Pollutants
Each of the areas is measured over three distinct phases of development;

·                 Construction,
·                 Use; and,
·                 End of Life.

To achieve the quality of data needed to measure and manage Gazeley’s impacts, Expert Networks have been formed in each country of operation. The Networks cover seven significant areas of Gazeley’s negative environmental effects.

In its role as Gazeley’s ‘Eco Champion’ or Environmental Country Leader for the UK, Shining Earth™ is leading the process of Expert Network formation and data capture to identify and communicate specification improvements which will significantly reduce environmental impacts.

Shining Earth™ is helping Gazeley to launch the EMS in China, France, Germany, Italy and Spain and has worked closely with Gazeley to understand its local and global needs,supporting its EMS launch with UK and global resources via the Inogen® network. It has worked successfully to deliver rapid engagement and response from Gazeley’s global ‘virtual’ team.
