Environmental Planning Support

Delta-Simons were instructed to submit a planning application together with the appropriate technical assessments and reports for the planning submission.

Purpose

The Client proposed to build a 12MW Peaking Power Plant and ancillary equipment, access and Security Fencing. The plant will generate electricity at short notice to meet peaks in demand within the local electricity network. The client had a tight build programme to meet National Grid contract obligations

Scope of Works

Delta-Simons provided project management of the planning application and the supporting environmental assessments including:

▲      Heat Plume Assessment

▲      Aviation Obstruction (flight path and potential for collision)

▲      Heritage

▲      Surface water drainage

▲      Noise

▲      Ecology

Outcomes / Client Benefit

▲      Voluntary engagement with stakeholders to remove potential objections relating to the proposed development of stacks and possible conflict with the use of private airfield - to speed up the determination process

▲      Actively resolved technical issues prior to the submission of the planning application which assisted in minimising post planning conditions. This allowed the client to start construction quickly following receiving consent

▲      The decision notice for this application was approved without any challenge and, due to quality and scope of the application was determined 5 weeks earlier than 13-week period.
