Delta-Simons awarded Silver Investors In People award

Team

Delta-Simons are pleased to announce that we have been granted an Investors in People Silver Award.

In 2008 and 2011 the company was awarded the IIP standard award, and although 2014 was a period of change and also growth for the company, we are extremely proud to have expanded on the accreditations achieved in the past and be awarded the Silver accreditation.

The award is not only a business assessment, it is designed to embed excellence within the company. It recognises achievement and the value that the company places on each and every employee and shows in return that the employees feel valued by the company.

The accreditation helps us to achieve real business improvement, it helps us look at how we work as a team, and makes us think about our business and find areas that we can address. The accreditation process looks at one of our main assets... our staff.

The Executive Directors are delighted that Delta-Simons has been awarded a Silver Investors in People accreditation and feel that this shows the ongoing commitment the company has with both its employees and its customers.

Over the last six months, we have endeavoured to provide interesting and unique opportunities to our staff by working together with local charities and organisations.

In January, as part of our work with AccessLN6 we secured funding to provide two pool bikes for use by our staff to give them a green and sustainable method of travel, free of charge. These bikes have also given the added benefit of sparking an interest in some of our staff to take up cycling recreationally. For information about AccessLN6, please click here.

In February we worked with L.I.V.E.S (Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service) to provide Automated Defibrillator and basic first aid training to a number of our staff. The organisation, which provides a voluntary first responder service to areas throughout Lincolnshire, has been working with a number of local businesses to install defibrillators in schools and businesses throughout the county as part of their ongoing "45 Defibs" campaign.

Following the training, an Automated Defibrillator was installed in the Delta-Simons head office in Lincoln, making Delta-Simons one of the local companies dedicated to providing extended emergency facilities for its staff and the local community. For information about L.I.V.E.S and how they provide an invaluable service to people across Lincolnshire, please click here.

In March we were joined by members of the City of Lincoln Council's Lincoln Health Trainer scheme, a service that provides free health and lifestyle advice to organisations and individuals in Lincoln. As well as recommending best practices for healthy eating and promoting exercise, they also took measurements from participants including their blood pressure, height and weight, body fat percentage, muscle mass, grip strength, and lung function. The results of which were surprising, highlighting the importance of healthy eating and regular exercise.

We hope the coming months will also yield further opportunities to engage our staff in interesting and useful activities as well as working with other local businesses and schemes to help support the community and our employees.

We are always looking for bright and enthusiastic individuals to enhance our teams across the UK. Click here to see the current career opportunities at Delta-Simons.
