We are delighted to announce the successful acquisition of Ground Engineering Ltd, a long-established and highly specialist provider of ground engineering services, Ground Engineering Ltd specialises in the provision of site investigation services and geotechnical testing, providing a strong addition to the Geo-Environmental team that is led by Divisional Director Simon Clennell-Jones.

Who is Ground Engineering Ltd?

Ground Engineering is the successor to Soils Engineering, which was originally Pre-Piling Surveys Ltd, founded in 1936, highlighting the level of experience and reputation that Ground Engineering has in the marketplace. They offer geotechnical and geoenvironmental ground investigation and associated professional services to a wide range of civil engineering, construction, housing, environmental management and financial sectors.

Their team of 24 highly skilled and experienced geotechnical engineers, geologists and drilling operators are based predominately in Peterborough and working largely in London and the South East and will expand the capacity, range and expertise of the site investigation services to those that are already provided by the Geo-Environmental team within Delta-Simons. Their on-site services are supported by their UKAS ISO 17025 accredited geotechnical and construction materials testing laboratory.

Led by Chris Ebeling and Steve Fleming, the company will be integrated into Delta-Simons’ geo-environmental division.

Steve Fleming, Director of Ground Engineering Ltd said of the deal;

“Chris and I are very happy that GEL are joining Delta-Simons, with whom we have successfully collaborated in the past, and look forward to adding our complementary experience and expertise to the company’s portfolio.”

The Ground Engineering team will join Delta-Simons Geo-Environmental Division, which currently has 92 staff including both land contamination and geotechnical engineers as well as a drilling team of 10 operating two dynamic sampler rigs and two Comacchio rotary rigs.

Simon Clennell-Jones, Geo-Environmental Operations Divisional Director, will lead the company’s integration, and said of the acquisition;

“I am delighted that the GEL team will be joining us, and I am looking forward to bringing our expert geoenvironmental and geotechnical teams together, combining our experience and knowledge to strengthen the division's service offering.”

This is the first acquisition made by Delta-Simons since our integration into the Lucion Group in April 2021, and signifies the growth and investment that can be made as part of a wider team with supportive investment and backing.
