Delta-Simons has been named Best Project Preparatory Work at the Brownfield Awards 2021 for the appropriate assessment of land quality to support a habitat regulation assessment (HRA).

This is the 17th year for the highly regarded Brownfield Awards hosted by Environment Analyst's Brownfield & Regeneration Network, which celebrate excellence across a range of categories in the brownfield and contaminated land sector.

Headquartered in Lincoln, Delta-Simons specialises in environment, health & safety and sustainability, providing support and advice within the property development, asset management, corporate and industrial markets.

At the awards, Delta-Simons were up against four other shortlisted finalists for the Best Project Preparatory Work accolade, the general criteria for this category was the planning and conduct of site investigations , conceptual modelling, or development use of the remediation strategy which both demonstrates best practise and provides a sound basis for remediation , verification and subsequent use or development of a brownfield site.

The judging panel was made up of senior professionals from the sector in the region and judges’ comments for selecting Delta-Simons as the winner of the category included:

Brownfield Judge Amy Juden, said “This project offered exemplary best practice for an unusual type of assessment. The assessment was cost-effective, being completed in one phase. The risk assessment element was particularly impressive, as it included compliance under a regulatory regime not standard in the field of contaminated land. The assessment offered excellent environmental and economic benefit to the project, along with demonstrating brilliant problem solving.”

Delta-Simons, Part of the Lucion Services Group currently operates from ten locations across the UK and employs more than 190 environmental professionals.

Simon Clennell-Jones, Geo-environmental Divisional Director says “I am very proud of the team winning the Best Project Preparatory Work category at the Brownfield Awards 2021.
