David Josling

We are pleased to welcome Principal Consultant, David Josling, to the Geo-environmental team for the South region. David brings over 13 years’ experience to the growing London unit, his role will be to support the continued growth of contaminated land work in the south east.

David studied at Nottingham University and gained his Environmental Engineering Masters in 2004, providing good grounding in a range of subjects including geology, contaminated land, geotechnical testing, civil engineering and maths.

Starting off his career, David joined a Nottingham-based consultancy as a graduate supervising ground investigation and undertaking gas monitoring, before eventually transferring to London as Senior Engineer where he was the main point of contact for the internal structural teams, civil design teams and clients.

Over the years, David has been involved in a range of projects such as large scale earthworks projects and supervision of site investigations, providing coal mining risks assessments, due diligence reports, remediation strategies and validation reports.

David also has significant and varying experience in the remediation of sites between localised excavation of hydrocarbon impacted soils and groundwater.  He has advised clients on complicated remediation projects and, more recently, project-managed a ground investigation within an active car park which was bound by flood defense walls and associated river anchors whilst also being constrained by a Cross Rail Asset at 33m bgl.

David will be reporting into Geo-environmental Associate, Simon Steele who says of the appointment: “Bringing David on board is a real benefit to the South team, his experience and knowledge will be of considerable value to the growth of the region”.
