Delta-Simons prepare to take part in annual C2C2C 100-mile charity bike ride

20 Jun 2022

One week today, on Thursday 30th June, a team of Delta-Simons employees, together with Chris Parr from Lucion Services, will be taking part in a challenging 100 mile charity bike ride across Lincolnshire.

About The C2C2 Race

First held in 2011, the C2C2C (castle to coast to castle) was introduced as a way to get more people cycling, raise some money for charity and have some fun. There were 79 participants in the first event, of whom 55 had never ridden the 100 mile distance before. In 2021 there were 476 riders and to date there have been over 4,000 riders and £169,000 raised for numerous different charities.  The ride is held on a weekday and aims to get people from local businesses out of the office and onto their bikes whilst raising money for charity.

The Charities

Each year the event selects different local charities to support and every penny of rider donations goes to these charities. The 2022 charities are:

EDAN Lincs  - providing support and assistance to men, women and children suffering, or fleeing from domestic abuse across the county of Lincolnshire.

Headway Lincolnshire - working to improve life after brain injury by providing vital support and information services.

Just Lincolnshire -  making a real difference in people’s lives by championing equality, tackling discrimination, and celebrating diversity within Lincolnshire.

St Barnabus Hospice -  a local independent charity supporting more than 10,500 people across Lincolnshire affected by a life-limiting or terminal illness.

“The C2C2C is always a fantastic event and as a company we’re proud to have both taken part in and sponsored the event for several years. It’s great to be supporting a range of local charities as well as getting out into the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside for the day. I’m really looking forward to this year’s event - we’ve got a few new faces who haven’t taken part before so it will be a great opportunity to spend time with colleagues from across all areas of the business.”
