Ergonomics Support Services

Adopting ergonomic habits and establishing a good work setup is a crucial way to stay comfortable at work. This can result in increased productivity, reduced absenteeism, and improved employee morale.

Our Services

Our experienced team of ergonomics consultants perform ergonomics and manual handling risk assessments for our clients, covering a range of activities including desk-based and active roles, in a variety of working environments. We can identify risks with position, equipment and working activities, and provide cost-effective solutions to avoid the development of musculoskeletal disorders.

Ergonomics Programmes

We can work with our clients’ existing ergonomics systems, or develop new sustainable ergonomics programmes, and support programme implementation.

Self-Assessment Support

We can provide employees with a Display Screen Equipment (DSE) self-assessment template, and review completed assessments, providing advice and support to encourage good ergonomic habits.

Ergonomics Assessments

We offer employees ergonomics assessments, in-person or remotely via phone or video call, to review their workstation set up, and provide in-depth, tailored advice. Our advice focuses on behavioural habits and cost-effective solutions. We provide written summary reports outlining our recommendations, in a format which is appropriate for the client’s ergonomic programme.

Home worker support assessments

We can undertake home worker support assessments remotely via phone or video call, providing advice on good workstation set-up and good ergonomic habits. Health and safety topics can also be covered, such as fire alarms, means of escape, lone working and cable management. A summary report is provided following each assessment, outlining recommendations and reminding them of best practice.

DSE Workshops

We can facilitate DSE workshops in-person or remotely, to provide general advice and support on good home workstation set-up, including opportunities for Q&A. Topics include chair adjustments, monitor positioning, keyboard and mouse usage, posture, the importance of regular movement, eye comfort, and recommended stretches.

Wellbeing advice could also be offered, giving simple tips for improving wellbeing such as exercising outdoors, keeping in touch with colleagues, and signposting to any available resources within the client’s existing ergonomics programme.

Manual Handling

Manual Handling causes over a third of all workplace injuries; the implications of these injuries are felt by both the injured person and the employer. When it is not possible to avoid manual handling completely, employees need to be educated in how to move objects around the workplace safely.

We support our clients by completing manual handling risk assessments and employee training to ensure that they handle materials in the most effective and least strenuous way.

What are my responsibilities?

Under the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992, employers have a responsibility to assess the risks associated with Display Screen Equipment, including a workstation assessment, for all employees who work with DSE as a significant part of their normal work. This includes employees who work from home on a long-term basis.

As a national provider with a regional presence, we work with clients from multiple sectors including; industrial, commercial and residential developers, retailers, industrial manufacturers, fund managers, institutional investors, hi-tech companies, the public sector and charitable organisations.
